ABADIANIA, GOIAS, BRAZIL
The small city of Abadiania is located in the central state of Goias and is a 1 1/2 hour taxi ride from the airport in Brasilia. It is in the country with beautiful, gentle, rolling hills. The altitude is about 3,000 feet. You will delight in strolling down the country roads right outside of town. It is green and lush during the rainy season and birds and other animals abound. The sunrises and sunsets are colorful and spectacular.
The city is home to about 17,000 people but around the casa you will find mostly pousadas (hotels), restaurants, shops, and foreigners. There are many shops catering to visitors selling white clothes, handmade jewelry, delicious desserts, gems, and much more.
Expect lots of rain showers in the summer months (October through April). Then dry season runs through September. The maximum precipitation is generally in December and January. The warmest months are September and October with average temperatures from 77 - 104 degrees F. The coldest months are June and July with average temperatures between 53 and 64 degrees F.
